Standards are an integral part to using CAD properly. Standards ensure deliverables are met, the quality of work is consistent and able to be shared between internal people and external partners effortlessly. GCS develops standards from scratch or uses industry standards as a foundation from organizations such as NCS or AIA. Standards can encompass everything from file naming conventions, layers, blocks, line types, object display and many other components of CAD. Developing standards is crucial, but the ease of use, documentation, adherence and inspection of standards is equally important for overall success.
